Scans of a 1942 wartime children's book over at Iowahawk.
Some pretty good advice there and not just for children either. Imagine trying to get that book out in today's political climate.
From a purely artistic perspective, I was pleasantly surprised at the nice usage of hierarchy. And for the first parts (up until the lengthy explanation of war bonds) the pacing flowed really well. Better check out Munro Leaf when I get the chance to.
